Abby Rochelle - Game Design Portfolio

About Me

Hi there! My name is Abby Rochelle. I am a third year Game Design and Development student at the Rochester Institute of Technology. I'm currently based in Rochester, NY and Boston, MA. I have a passion for computer programming, narrative design, user interfaces, game design, and interactive media. I am currently on the look out for opportunties to break into this ever-changing industry and flex some of the game design muscles I have been building! When I am not working on client projects at RIT's game studio or my own personal projects, I love to sing, act, knit, paint, and, of course, play video games.

I designed this website as a digital Game Design portfolio where anyone can stay up-to-date with my various projects! Each project listed will eventually include an interactive demo that can be experienced in-browser!

Recent Projects

The Flowershop Titlecard

The Flowershop; Business is Blooming!

The Flowershop is an original game demo that I created alongside two of my friends for RIT's 2025 Women in Computing Hackathon. As the Game Engineer on this project, I worked to develop our demo in HTML and Javascript in under 48 hours! Our demo won an award at the Hackathon, which convinced the three of us to continue developing the project. Currently, we are working to rebuild and expand our game in Unity with the skills that we have honed over our first two years at RIT. Be on the look out for updates on this one!
Pizza Is Ready Titlecard

Pizza Is Ready!

In the Spring of 2025, I took a course at RIT called 'Game Development and Algorithmic Problem Solving II', in which I expanded my understanding of C# and its native data structures as well as ways to improve upon them. At the end of this course, I worked with a team of my peers to utilize the MonoGame Framework to create our final project: 'Pizza Is Ready!'. We created a basic pizza shop simulator in which the goal is to place toppings on a pizza as accurately as possible all while under a time crunch. My responsibilities included designing the lifecycle of the game, implementing the Drag and Drop functionality of the pizza toppings, as well as loading and saving game information from a text file. This project was also my first time working with a larger team on a game design project. I took on a leadership role, taking notes, managing our Trello board, and updating our documentation.

Bee Flocking Simulation

This past semester (Spring 2026) I worked to hone my skills in C# and Unity. To further my understanding of automated non-player character movement, I developed a 2D Unity project that demonstrates an NPC "flocking" behavior. The user can use their mouse to plant flowers in a grassy field that a swarm of bees will then move to. The bees' movements are determined by flocking and seeking algorithms that I designed. To flex my visual design muscles, I also decided to create all of the assets included in the project. Bee on the look out for a demo of this project!

If you'd like to see more of my recent work in MAGIC Spell Studio's VR Training Simulation client project, please reach out! I am really proud of the systems and features that I have created for that project, but unfortunately I am not at liberty to share too too much about it publicly. If you reach out, I would be happy to speak about what I can about my more recent work!
